Goth Prom Minneapolis- Jeremy Ahrens Overview: The Goth Prom is held at the Saloon on the first Hard Monday of May. About 250 to 300 darksiders glam up, put on their best stompy boots, and grave dig to Peter Murphy until 3a.m.
Review: The Goth Prom is my favorite Minneapolis event of the year. It gives me a second excuse outside of Halloween to wear eye-liner and fishnets. Plus getting your prom picture taken isn't bad either. Everyone brings a date to the Goth Prom. You should as well. Societal rules do not seem to apply at the Goth Prom. Make-out with whomever you like. Boys, girls, shemales or your sister. It doesn't matter. Dry hump a boy in the shower. No one will judge. Well, unless you are a bad kisser. That stuff spreads fast. Last Year's Party: Last years event was called Garden Mystere. I danced on the platform to Floor Killer and made out with my sister. Hot. Date: First Monday in May. Time: 9p.m. to 3a.m. Where: Saloon. 9th street and Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN Dress: Look sharp. Wear black. Guys should wear leather, vinyl or a suit. Girls wear a wide variety of hot dresses, corsets and lingerie. Fishnet stockings are pretty common for both guys and girls. Music: DJ's spin EBM, industrial, electronica and a few 80's favorites. You will hear VNV Nation, Icon of Coil, Depeche Mode, Wolfsheim, NIN, Assemblage 23 and a whole mess of The Cure. Face Control: Event is 18+ and is free. Everyone gets in.
