Voltage Fashion Amplified- Jeremy Ahrens Overview: Voltage Fashion Amplified melts fashion with rock. The pretentiousness I would typically expect from a fashion show is replaced with unadulterated fun. Local bands play their hottest tracks during 15 minute sets. Models work the catwalk with a smile. And designers sit back and wonder if that last ruby they added to an outfit makes the model look slutty enough.
Review: Put Voltage on your myspace calendar right now. It's a great venue for meeting new people. There are frequent breaks. It's not too loud. And you can talk about either bands or fashion. But try not to use the word hot too much. It gets a bit old for everyone. But if you do require descriptors, try mixing in the prefixes euro, electro and robo. Well, maybe not robo. If that does not work, just use the word flash. As in, those capri pants were so euro-flash. And then maybe snap your fingers. Advice: Make sure to buy a ticket in advance. 2005 was sold out.
Last Year's Party: I ran into my ex with her new lover. That sucked. But I kept it cool and ended up meeting a girl with pink hair from my chemistry class. She was beautiful. You can do the same. Heal. Date: May 25th Location: First Avenue Price: $12 Dress: Guys should wear a suit or something mesh. Girls should wear something vintage or slutty. Music: Local bands like Revolver Modele, Faux Jean, Olympic Hopefuls and the Soviettes. Website: voltagefashionamplified.com |
